Gonzalez batters Pacheco

Gonzalez, 33-5-(29), stepped up a gear in the third round, peppering the former IBF flyweight champion with solid left jabs and sustained attacks.

From the seventh round onwards Gonzalez was well in command,battering Pacheco from all angles before a combination of venomous punches forced the referee to intervene after 1.04 of the ninth round.

In other action welterweight prospect Gabrial Martinez,14-0-(7), preserved his unbeaten record with a hard fought split decision win over the more aggressive Arturo Branbelle,8-9-(4).

The scores were 79-73,77-75 for Martinez while the third judge saw Branbelle the winner, 77-75.
