Norway maintain perfect record at World Curling Championships

Norway maintained their 100 per cent record at the World Men's Curling Championships in Las Vegas with a dramatic 7-5 win over the United States in Monday’s morning session.

The Norwegians won a point in the ninth end to level the match at 5-5 and were sitting two after their ten stones in the tenth and final end.
That left United States skip Greg Persinger with a draw to win the match, only for his final stone to drift too long and gift Norway the victory.
Norway now have four wins from four alongside Olympic silver medallists Sweden while the winners in PyeongChang, United States, have just a single triumph.
In Monday morning’s other match, Japan needed an extra end to get their first win of the Championships as they recorded a 7-6 success over the Netherlands.
Japan had led 3-0 after the opening two ends and were 5-2 up at the halfway mark only for the Netherlands to launch a fine comeback.
After a blanked sixth end, Netherlands took points from the next three ends to move 6-5 ahead with Japan levelling the match once again in the tenth.
But Dutch skip Jaap Van Dorp couldn’t get his final stone inside Japan’s in the extra end, leaving the two sides locked together in ninth in the standings with the United States.
The US return to the ice in Monday’s afternoon session with Norway, Netherlands and Japan all back in the evening in Las Vegas.
