Scotland will meet host nation Canada in the final of the men's World Curling Championship. Bruce Mouat's rink faced Italy in the semi-finals, and while the Italians led 4-2 after four ends, Scotland managed to make it 8-8 in the tenth and secure a victory. Canada won a tight 8-5 semifinal against Switzerland to book their spot. Scotland last won a men's world title back in 2009.

Scotland to play Canada for gold after beating Italy

Scotland survived a nail-biting extra end thriller against Italy to reach the World Curling Championships final.
Team Mouat edged a 9-8 victory over their semi-final opposition to set up a tense gold medal match against host nation Canada, who beat a previously undefeated Switzerland 7-5.
With the hammer in the tenth end, Italy fought back to equal the scores at eight apiece in Ottawa and forced the game into a dramatic extra end.
But it was Mouat's rink who made it count, placing just one stone to seal the deal and propel them into the final.
Hosts Canada roared to an unexpected 9-7 win over Switzerland in the second semi-final.
The Swiss had a perfect record from the Round Robin and cruised through into the playoffs spots but were halted by Brad Gushue's two points in the final end to clinch the victory.
Scotland and Canada last battled for World Curling gold back in 2012, setting up an exciting final clash.
