Team Jumbo-Visma have announced last year's Tour de France winner Jonas Vingegaard has extended his stay with the team until 2027. He joined Jumbo-Visma in 2019 and helped win the Vuelta a Espana before bettering his second place Tour de France finish in 2021 by winning it the following year. "It means everything to me, it gives me peace of mind and the opportunity to focus on my goals even more."

Jonas Vingegaard has signed a three-year contract extension with Team Jumbo-Visma.
The 2022 Tour de France winner will stay with the team until 2027 after joining in 2019.
Since his arrival, he was part of the Jumbo-Visma team that won Vuelta a Espana with Primoz Roglic in 2020, and came second in the Tour de France in 2021 before going on to win it the following year.
The 26-year-old said it “means everything” to extend his stay, which will see him race in yellow and black for the next five years.
“I have had a fantastic journey with the team who has supported me in every way to become the rider I am today,” he said. “I appreciate the quality of the team and the people here and feel at home.
“Every day we push each other to get better, and this is where I can fulfill my full potential. We will definitely reach an even higher level together. I'm excited to continue growing within the team.”
"It means everything to me to know that I will be in the team for a further five years. It gives me peace of mind and the opportunity to focus on my goals even more."
In an official Jumbo-Visma announcement on Tuesday, Vingegaard set his sights on more Tour de France wins following last year’s success.
“The Tour de France is something very special,” he said.
“The feeling I had, standing on top of the podium, was fantastic. My goal is to go for many more wins. In the tour, but also in other races to come.”
Jumbo-Visma general manager Richard Plugge said: "Jonas is a fantastic fit for us: he is eager to learn and easy to coach, and also pushes us ahead as a team.
“He was a rough diamond when he first came to the team. Together, we developed significantly, ultimately winning the Tour de France.
“Jonas is essential to our goals if we're to maintain our position at the top.”
The Danish rider has already won two stage races this year ahead of his bid to win back-to-back Tour de France titles.
