DYGERT GETS GOING
2019 World Champion Chloe Dygert gets her race underway with her iconic trademark flash of bright pink on her socks and wheels. Hearing reports that she's been unwell in the lead up to today's race but hopefully she'll be able to set a good account regardless. New Zealand's Ella Wyllie started just before her. At the age of 20 she'll be competing for the u23 title, and she finished second in the young rider category at the recent Tour.

FAVOURITES
Today’s race will neither feature the defending World Champion Ellen van Dijk nor Olympic champion Annemiek van Vleuten, however, there are plenty more riders who will be raring to go.
Switzerland’s Marlen Reusser has already won a rainbow jersey this week with a win in the mixed team time trial and won stage eight, the ITT, of the Tour de France Femmes only a few weeks ago. With Van Vleuten not competing this year, Reusser is the highest-ranked rider from the ITT at the Tokyo Olympics where she took the silver medal.
Chloe Dygert (USA) has also won rainbow bands on the track in the individual pursuit in the past week and the World Champion from 2019 returns in search of a second in the ITT.
Demi Vollering (The Netherlands) takes part in her first World Championships ITT, and after coming second in the ITT at the Tour de France Femmes she’ll be one to look out for both today and in Sunday’s road race.
The USA’s Amber Neben starts an impressive 17th World Champs ITT, and she has previously won the title in 2008 and 2016. She was fifth at Tokyo 2020.
