Good afternoon and welcome to Eurosport's LIVE commentary of the African Cup of Nations third-place play-off between hosts Equatorial Guinea and DR Congo. There had been question marks if today's encounter would go ahead following fan unrest during the semi-final clash between Ghana and the hosts but the match was given the green light yesterday and will, in fact, be played in front of fans in Malabo.

DR Congo just haven't started yet. They have looked shaky at the back throughout the competition and the early stages of this match has highlighted their defensive vulnerability.

A succession of corners from Equatorial Guinea are unconvincingly dealt with by DR Congo and the score remains 0-0.

A corner from Equatorial Guinea causes all sorts of problems for DR Congo who fail to clear the ball and eventually only a save from Kidiaba prevents a goal.

It's been all Equatorial Guinea and the hosts have shown real intent in the opening minutes of this encounter.

A routine cross from Equatorial Guinea is misjudged by Kidiaba in DR Congo's goal who competely misses the ball but Mongongu just about clear up the mess .

This game may feel like it is being played behind closed doors but in truth the fans just haven't bothered to turn up.

Controversy has followed Equatorial Guinea throughout the tournament and, unfortunately, has somewhat overshadowed their overachievements in reaching this year's semi-final. However, they'll want to finish the competition on a high and will be relying on Javier Balboa to make things happen.

If DR Congo are to achieve victory today they will be looking to the services of Yannick Bolasie who has been one of the best players during this year's tournament. Bolasie helped his side to an unexpected place in the final four and will be the key element if DR Congo are to receive a medal at the end of play. Dieumerci Mbokani has also starred but finds himself on the substitute's bench on this occasion.
