For South Africa to go through, they must win and hope Senegal beat Algeria, although Ephraim Mashaba's side would also go through in the case of an Algeria win provided they can overturn their goal difference deficit to Senegal.

Algeria lie second in Group B, having beaten South Africa 3-1 in their opening match in Mongomo on 19 February. The Desert Warriors, Africa's top-ranked team, will also progress with a draw if South Africa beat Ghana in the other match in Mongomo.

Group leaders Senegal, with four points from their two matches so far, need only to draw to book their place in the last eight. However, Alain Giresse's side could still be eliminated should they lose to Algeria and Ghana beat South Africa in the other group match.
