Malmo are enjoying a nice spell around the Atletico box from two corners and another throw in, yet none of the visitors are able to fashion any real threat against Moya's goal.

Juanfran is lucky not to penalised for holding back Forsberg down the left yet the ball goes out for a Malmo throw and the visitors waste no time in working the play into Atletico's box. The Swedes have looked dangerous in the opening exchanges.

Yet Malmo create the first attack of the game, though it's hardly a move to trouble Moya with the eventual shot petering out before it reaches the Atletico keeper. Though his catch isn't perfect and the ball does spill slightly.

KICK OFF! And we are underway at the Vicente Calderon. Atletico start the game and immediately push forward. Bursting out the gates as always.

And here come the handshakes. It's not likely to be a gentle occassion on the field however. Simeone will be wanting his team to ratchet up the intensity as always to blast the Malmo's already meagre chances of staging an upset to pieces.

We are just moments from kick off here in Madrid. The teams are all lined up in the tunnel and ready to make their way to the pitch. Can Malmo cause an upset or will Atletico match expectations?

For those of you who enjoy a bit of boot gazing, here's the footwear that Koke will be walking out in tonight. They're suitably fancy for such a highly regarded youngster in this day and age, but can he provided the substance to go with the style this evening?
19:28
With just over 15 minutes to go at Vicente Calderon, it's worth remembering that both of tonight's competitors are former finalists in Europe's premier club competition. Malmo last featured in the grand climax of the knock out rounds in the 1979 edition of the old format European Cup. Unfortunately for the Swedes, they came up against the force of nature and narrative that was Brian Clough's Nottingham Forest.

Last year's Champions League runners up are currently second in Group A, but only on goal difference. All four sides have so far won and lost one game each, with Malmo currently in third thanks to their home victory over Olympiakos. That fixture was the first Champions League game played on Swedish soil for 14 years.

While the visitors may be lining up with the veteran Rosenberg, Atletico's starting line up will boast such young starlets as Antoine Griezmann, Koke and Saúl Ñíguez, who Simone will be expecting to step up and fill the voids left by his squad's injuries.
19:10
Malmo boss Age Hareide will have experienced striker Marcus Rosenberg available to lead the visitors' line, while Enoch Kofi Adu is also given the nod to start in the Spanish capital. Filip Helander has recovered from a foot injury with Markus Halsti also starting.
19:10
Thiago misses the Champions League Group A match against Malmo with a bruised leg. Gabi and Cristian Ansaldi (both hamstring) both miss out. Diego Simeone's side conceded three goals in defeat away to Olympiakos in their opening group A game although they followed that up with a 1-0 victory at home to Juventus.
