Hello and welcome to our LIVE coverage of Manchester City's Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk from the Etihad Stadium. City have already secured top spot in Group F, and victory tonight will give them an 100 per cent record going into the last 16. Shakhtar need a point to guarantee progression. Defeat will be enough if Napoli fail to beat Feyenoord. I'm Pete Hall, and I will be bringing you the action, as it happens, live!

So can Shakhtar do it again? Playing in Kharkiv, so far from home in war-torn Donetsk, they continually triumph in the face of adversity. Tonight, a draw will do against a much-changed City side. City have stumbled a little of late domestically, but they keep finding that bit extra to grind out wins. City can only admire Shakhtar's strike rate. This is Manchester City's seventh consecutive Champions League participation. They have made it past the round of 16 only once, it was in 2015/16 when they reached the semi-finals (knocked out by Real Madrid). Meanwhile, Shakhtar Donetsk have reached the knockout stages in three of their last six Champions League campaigns, their best performance dating back to 2010/11 (quarter-finalists). Shakhtar have won their two home games in the Champions League so far this season, scoring also 2 goals in each of their last four outings on home soil.
