GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Borussia Dortmund 1 (38 mins - Axel Witsel). Atletico Madrid 0. Dortmund have scored the opener and it's Witsel! The Belgian took the shot from about 20 yards, it picked up a big deflection off Lucas and Oblak is wrong-footed. The ball dribbled past him and the hosts have the lead.

Pulisic is starting to have more of an influence on the game. This is a big season for the young American, who has become something of a star for Borussia Dortmund. So much potential.

I can't decide if this is a really good game or a really bad game. It has been played at a pretty decent tempo, but there hasn't been much quality from either side in the attacking third.

Favre is forced into a change. Delaney has picked up an injury and on comes Dahoud to replace him.

Another yellow card and this time it's to Partey. That had been coming for the midfielder.

Griezmann took it early! The Frenchman controls a pass that was played over his shoulder and tried to take the shot early to catch out Burki, but the effort flashes wide of the near post.

Scooped over the bar! That was a half chance for Pulisic. The ball fell to the young American just inside the box, but he leans back and puts his finish over the Atleti crossbar.

A little update from the other games... Liverpool have a 1-0 lead over Red Star Belgrade, while PSG are a goal down at home to Napoli. And it's still 0-0 between Barcelona and Inter.

The referee is allowing the game to flow as much as he can, but one wonders if he is allowing a little too much to flow. Some pretty obvious fouls being committed by both sides.

This is a match that has been played in the centre of the pitch so far. Both sides are struggling to create much in the final third. Atletico Madrid tend to have this effect on games.

Achraf was striding forward, he got to the edge of the box and then seemed to be caught in two minds. In the end Atletico Madrid were able to get bodies around him and crowd him out.

On the whole, Atletico Madrid have probably been the better of the two teams so far, but there hasn't been much in the way of goalscoring opportunities for either side.

Witsel has had quite an impact at Borussia Dortmund since making the move back to Europe from the Chinese Super League. He's the sort of player they needed in midfield.

Decent try! Witsel takes the strike from about 25 yards out, it's on target from the Belgian midfielder, but Oblak watches it all the way, gets his body behind it and makes the save.

The referee thought about booking Achraf for arguing with the man in the middle. The on loan Real Madrid right back wanted a yellow card to be shown to Partey for a deliberate foul.

Borussia Dortmund have played some exceptional, attacking football under Favre this season, but Atletico Madrid are restricting them in that regard this evening. That's what they do.
