Lovely ball over the top from Lovren that Mane could take, but he leaves it for Salah who, on his right foot, can only drive straight at Stankovic. That was not a very composed finish - he really should've scored.

Milik has out Napoli head. We knew this at kick-off, but if Liverpool lose tonight, chances are they're out. And assuming Napoli win, they need to too to win the group.

This has been a fast start from the hosts, who are not messing about. The holders are in a game.

Junozovic takes and Alexander-Arnold heads clear. The ball ends up wih Januzovic a second time, but his second cross goes away too and Szoboszlai shoots wide.

Here come Salzburg again, and they win a corner down the right...

Immediately, Haaland gets a step on Van Dijk, and immediately Van Dijk closes the distance, relieving him of possession to clear.

The ground is absolutely rocking. I'm well looking forward to this.

HERE THEY COME!
17:51
And we should note that Napoli-Genk is, of course, taking place simultaneously.

The players are tunnelled...

Sad news. Farewell, Bald Eagle.

The. Full. Stops. Really. Bring. It. Home. To .You.

The Cringe Derby.

Sadio Mane also played for Salzburg, and what a player he's become. Even when Salah scored all those goals, he looked a better player to me, and when Liverpool threatened to drop off last January/February, he was the one who held them together. He might just be the best in the world in his position, and on that point, it's worth crediting Jurgen Klopp. He was the one who moved Mane to the left, and I daresay a pointed word here or there helped him settle into the position.

Steve McManaman has had the same hairstyle since 1991. Incredible scenes.

Salzburg have only lost once at home in three years. I do fancy Liverpool tonight, but I doubt they'll keep a clean sheet.

Dominik Szoboszlai is another player I'm looking forward to watching. I'm told he's absolutely brilliant, though he was recommended to me as a midfielder. he's on the left tonight.

On BT, they're talking about Erling Brut Haaland. I like the look of him I must say, though Owen is saying he's not excited to see him because he doesn't have an outstanding attribute. What if he's not just a sprinter, who's got a first touch, some skill, and doesn't aggravate supporters of every club he's ever played for?
