Good evening! The Champions League is back and there are a couple of rip-roaring ties to get the quarter final stage underway this evening, including this game between the competition’s favourites Manchester City and the dangerous Borussia Dortmund. I’ll bring you build-up for the next hour before live text commentary from 8pm. It should be a good one.

Away we go. Dortmund, wearing their traditional yellow and black, get the game underway.
THE CHHAAAMMMPPPIIIONS!
Here we go! The players emerge from the tunnel into a largely empty Etihad Stadium and we’re moments away from kick-off.
Gundogan played over 100 league games for Dortmund during his time there, winning the domestic double in 2012 and picking up a Champions League runner-up medal a year later. But Gundogan’s current form is the best of his career yet, and his former side will be in for a tough evening trying to keep him quiet tonight.
City are favourites to win this competition and are still on for the quadruple. We’ve been here before with this quadruple chat of course, but this year it feels like it may actually happen. But first they’ve got to get past Dortmund, and to do so City will likely lean heavily on their former BVB man Ilkay Gundogan.
Right, let’s park that transfer chat and get back to the football.

'Maybe in the future' - Guardiola doesn't rule out mega deal with Haaland linked

Whether Guardiola will be willing to do a deal with Haaland’s agent (the infamous Mino Raiola) is probably the biggest barrier to a summer move, given the pair’s strained relationship. But a couple of strong performances from the striker in this tie may be enough to persuade Pep to put his pride to one side. We will see.
To score that number of goals at his age is not easy. He’s 20 years old and the numbers speak for themselves. When that happens it’s because he can score with the right, the left, via counterattacks, in the box. He’s a fantastic striker, everyone knows it.
It’s not all doom and gloom at Dortmund though, and any side with Erling Haaland up top is always in with a chance. The Norwegian is expected to be the star attraction in this summer’s transfer window, with City one of the possible destinations for the 20-year-old. And speaking ahead of this game, Pep Guardiola has heaped praise on the young finisher.

Sancho’s absence is a further blow to a Dortmund side who are in a bit of a bad place at the moment. Just three wins in their last eight league games have seen them slip to fifth in the Bundesliga, with defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt at the weekend leaving them seven points behind those opponents in the table.
Jadon didn't join the squad for the game, so he stayed in Germany and is doing his rehab in Dortmund. He started with a bit of running for the last couple of days and we hope that it won't take a long time to get back to team training, but he won't be ready for the next week, let's say.
If you hadn’t heard already, former Man City youth star Jadon Sancho is out this evening through injury, and may even be unavailable for the second leg, if the comments of Dortmund manager Edin Terzic are to be believed.
Some very interesting team news from Dortmund, who have switched to a back three to try and cope with City’s attacking threat, and have handed a first club start to young winger Ansgar Knauff.
City make five changes from the side who beat Leicester at the weekend, with John Stones, Joao Cancelo, Ilkay Gundogan, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva back in.
