LEIPZIG’S ROAD TO THE FINAL
Leipzig have been relentless in the cup this year, seeing off Sandhausen, Babelsberg 03 and Hansa Rostock in the opening rounds of the Pokal. In the quarter final Lepzig beat 2.Bundesliga side Hannover 96 4-0 to set up a last four tie with Union Berlin.
They ultimately booked their place in the final in dramatic fashion with Forsberg netting a 92nd minute winner against Union.
The road to Berlin has seen Leipzig score 13 goals across five matches, while they have only conceded on two occasions.

FREIBURG’S ROAD TO THE FINAL
Freiburg began their Pokal campaign by easing past Wurzburger Kickers. In the second round they stuttered past third-tier side VFL Osnabruck, scoring an 120th minute goal to make the game 1-1 and take the tie to penalties. The Breisgau-Brasilianer sealed their place in the last 16 with a 3-2 win on penalties.
Freiburg hammered Hoffenheim 4-1 in the last 16 before scoring another 120th minute goal to beat Bochum 2-1 in the last eight. They then dismantled second tier Hamburger SV 3-1 in the semi-final.

TEDESCO PRAISES HIS OPPONENT
Speaking to media before the game Tedesco was full of praise for the opposition.
He said: “Freiburg have many strengths. They are no longer a small club and getting to the final proves that.
“In my opinion, Freiburg are now one of Germany’s top teams.”

A WORD FROM STREICH
The Freiburg manager channelled history’s great stoics in his pre-match press conference.
The 56-year-old said: “It would be great if we won the cup. And if we don’t win, the world won’t end either.
“We are happy that after such an extraordinary season for the club we still have this absolute highlight.”

For Leipzig, Haidara, who has been suffering with a knee injury, is out of the final.
