Hello and welcome to LIVE coverage of France vs. Albania. I’ll be bringing you all the build-up over the next 50 minutes, followed by full text commentary of the game in Marseille.

Albania continue to sit deep behind the ball, content to let France stroke it around at the back.

Payet whips in a free-kick, but Albania are pretty strong in the air and deal with the delivery reasonably comfortably.

France have controlled possession in the early stages, but it's all very slow and ponderous.

The players emerge from the tunnel in Marseille and it's anthem time. First up it's a chance for the massed ranks of red-shirted Albanian fans to let rip...

It'll be exciting to see these two tonight. If you're going to drop Pogba and Griezmann then it needs such a talented pair to justify it.

Win tonight and France are through to the knockout stages. Lose and they may need a result against Switzerland to guarantee a second round spot (depending on results elsewhere).

Deschamps’ selection makes a bit more sense when you look at the Albania XI. Lila and Memushaj come into the side as De Biai goes super-defensive. There’s no Lorik Cana after his red card in the loss to Switzerland, but this is still an extremely combative side that will sit deep and look to frustrate France – justifying the hosts’ choice to introduce width and pace to stretch the play.

The rumours had been circulating that Deschamps was planning on leaving Pogba and Griezmann out of his starting line-up for tonight’s game, and so it has proved. The official explanation is that the pair have been rested, the reaction suggests that they’ve been dropped, and the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. This is a slightly different tactical set-up from France’s opening game, with the switch to a 4-2-3-1 and an opportunity to test out that shape with Coman and Martial providing width.
