Muller loops a pass towards Gomez, who fouls Chiellini as the pair vie for the ball down by the touchline.

De Sciglio miscontrols when set up by Chiellini down the left - Italy have been a bit scrappy and disjointed so far.

Schweinsteiger heads in, but the veteran pushes De Sciglio out the way and the officials blow early for the foul.

Kimmich is back to nick the ball off Giaccherini - he has been the standout player for Germany so far.

The referee Viktor Kassai lectures Sturaro for a late challenge on Kroos - it is getting a bit spicy now.

Muller concedes a foul with a late challenge on Sturaro - Conte is again furious, though there was very little in that, to be honest.

Eder is bleeding following that challenge with Boateng - he comes off briefly for treatment.

Boateng shepherds a long ball away from Eder and back to Neuer. Conte is then held back by his coaching start as Kimmich goes in high on De Sciglio.

Eder overhits a pass to Giaccherini down the left - Italy are struggling to gain their composure against this energetic Germany side.

CHANCE: Gomez gets between the two Italy defenders but at full stretch is unable to control Hummels' long ball down the centre.

Parolo is in on Schweinsteiger smartly on the halfway line to tackle and concede the throw.

Florenzi tries a snapshot form the edge of the area that is easily saved by Neuer. The Germany goalkeeper kicks long, and Bonucci is across to head clear.

Khedira is crocked - Bastian Schweinsteiger is getting instructions on the sideline.

Chiellini then stands on Khedira, who is down for treatment. Worryingly, the Juventus midfielder is holding his groin rather than his foot.

Kimmich fouls Chiellini in the Italy box after the Bayern Munich man beats De Sciglio down the right.

Ozil skips across the area but his angled pass just fails to find Hector. From the break, Khedira takes out Eder but the referee waves play on.

Parolo concedes a corner down the right following a Khedira one-two with Kimmich. But Italy can clear the set-piece. Germany have all the possession though.

Kimmich cuts inside from the right but then overhits the pass to Khedira. That was half an opening for Italy, too.
