Hoban goes down writhing after being caught on the shoulder by Basha's right boot. Referee Pavel Kralovec shows him a yellow card, but it could easily have been a red.

Romania have started positively and Hoban curls a hopeful ball into the Albania box. Berisha almost spills the ball back into danger, but gathers at the second attempt.

We have our first shot of the match, as Romania work the ball infield from the left flank and Stanciu lets fly from 25 yards, but his effort flies over.

Albania coach Gianni De Biasi: "The players have done a lot of good things so far. Unfortunately we've paid dearly for our mistakes. And when we've had chances, perhaps we haven't been experienced enough to build on what we've done in the game. I said to the guys, 'If you want to carry on in this competition, you have to take advantage of your chances.'"

Romania coach Anghel Iordanescu: "Romanian football needs this. For years our team has not been present at the Euros and this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to obtain a result that will delight the entire country. That's why we have to be focused and avoid expending energy on useless things. The boys need to understand that they have to leave everything on the pitch to get a result."

Albania boss Gianni De Biasi has also sprung a surprise, leaving captain Lorik Cana on the bench despite his return from suspension.
