Good evening! Welcome to live coverage of Portugal versus Germany from the Allianz Arena in Munich. We’re into the fourth match of Group F here, and it’s beautifully poised. After losing their opening match to France, the Germans are on the brink already here. Another defeat could nudge them definitively towards the ignominy of another first round exit, to sit alongside their early departure from the 2018 World Cup in Russia. If Portugal administer that defeat, they’ll saunter through to the second round. Should Germany win however then we could be in for a right old nerve jangler in the final round of matches, particularly as Hungary have just held France 1-1 in Budapest. All to play for then, let’s get about it; teams from Munich incoming.

32'
Pepe and Havertz collide going for the ball, and Pepe is down. The crowd aren't overly chuffed with Pepe, who was waving the old imaginary yellow a few minutes ago after Gnabry caught Dias, but I think he's genuinely winded here.
29'
Kimmich gets the better of Guerreiro on the right, but can only roll a low cross into the hands of Patricio thereafter.
28'
Jota's ball in finds the head of Guerreiro 12 yards out, who can only glance the ball high over the bar.
27'
Havertz bundles Carvalho over 30 yards from goal on the left, and it's a free kick to Portugal.
25'
Gnabry twists Guerriero round on the right edge of the Portuguese area. He then smashes a cross into the area, which misses everyone and flies out of play. With that, the players take a drinks break as it's a toasty thirty degrees in Munich today.
22'
Half a chance here for Portugal. They take a corner short to Guerreiro; he picks out Dias, completely unmarked at the back post who heads it right back across goal to no one in particular. It drifts out, but he had more time to guide that into the far corner.
21'
That goal has really dulled the atmosphere in Munich, and it feels like the Germans are still processing what happened as they knock the ball around in midfield. We could have some match now; Germany need to get forward, which will leave them susceptible to similar breaks from the Portuguese.
18'
Gosens has a yahoo from a wide angle now, but his fierce daisy cutter is straight into the hands of Patricio.
17'
Germany, who have bossed this opening stanza, walked right on to one there. That was a brilliant counter from Portugal.
15'
GOAL! Portugal 1 (Ronaldo 15) Germany 0
Portugal have absolutely done Germany on the break here! Ronaldo heads clear a German corner, and Bernardo Silva breaks at pace. His long, diagonal ball finds Jota clean through in the German area; he squares it to Ronaldo, who had made up ninety yards to simply tap the ball into the empty net with Neuer stranded!

Muller has a lash now after a knockdown from Kimmich. It's 20 yards out and from a wide angle, and bounces safely into the hands of Patricio.
12'
Kroos moves forward threateningly, and plays a one-two with Gosens on the left edge of the Portuguese box. His shot is blocked, and Portugal clear again.
10'
GOOD SAVE! Havertz lets one rip from the edge of the area. Patricio diverts it away to the right, and then does just enough to put off Gnabry and force him wide of goal from the rebound. Portugal eventually scramble it clear; this is a good start by Germany.
7'
Gnabry goes on a little sortie, dancing his way to the byline, but can only clip a weak cross into the hands of Patricio.
5'
DISALLOWED GOAL! Almost the perfect start for the hosts! Kimmich gets the ball wide on the right, and whips it in to the middle. Gnabry misses it but Gosens contorts his body superbly at the back post to stab in a volley, but Gnabry was half a yard off and it's chalked.
3'
Lots of possession for Germany so far, but all sideways; it abruptly comes to an end when Kimmich is boxed in and forced out of play near halfway.
1'
Peep! Let's do this.
16:58
Right then, let's get it popping. It's a glorious evening in Munich and the crowd, although not at capacity, are making a din that suggests they're right up for this.
16:54
The teams are out, and we're ready to go with the national anthems. Your referee tonight is the Premier League's own Anthony Taylor.
16:50
Given how staggering their record is in international football, it's perhaps a little surprising that Germany have been to the final of a European Championship once since their last victory in 1996. As for Portugal, their record isn't talked about enough. This century alone they've won a Euros, reached the final of another and been in the semi-finals of three other Euros/World Cups in this century alone.
16:45
The players should be aware of the result from Budapest earlier, which has really invited the cat in to hang with the pigeons. Depending on the result this evening, all four teams in the group could go into their final match with a fair chance of progressing to the second round.
