We said there would be goals and goals there has been. There could be many more this evening particularly if the likes of Younes and Fischer continue to impress for the home side.

It was a really well worked goal by Ajax but Celtic will be disappointed with their defending particularly after looking so comfortable for the opening 25 minutes.

For all of the home side's possesion they have yet to really test Gordon in Celtic's defence. It has been a great start by the visitors and this is exactly the reaction Deila would have asked for.

Izaguirre gets himself in all kinds of trouble at the back as he loses the ball to Gudelj but the forward's shot is blocked by Brown and Celtic survive.

What a waste of a corner - El Ghazi's corner is played straight out for a goal-kick.

Simunovic almost scores a comical own goal on his debut after getting a foot to Fisher's pass but the ball fortunately rolls out for a corner. Celtic have really struggled with set pieces this season and look nervous as they prepare to defend this corner.

For a second the dangerous El Ghazi thinks he is played through behind the away defence but quick thinking from Gordon sees the goalkeeper rush from his line to collect the ball.

GOAL - Ajax 0-1 Celtic! Nir Biton has silenced the home crowd with a low shot which struck the corner of the net after playing a tidy one-two with Commons. What a start for Celtic.

A crowd of just under 50,000 at the Amsterdam ArenA have had little to shout about just yet but they're still making plenty of noise.

Celtic seem to be relatively happy to allow their Dutch opponents plenty of possession at the opening stage of this match. All of Deila's players are currently behind the ball and looking organised.

FACT: Ajax have won four of their last five European home games, the exception being a 3-2 loss to SK Rapid Wien in this season's UEFA Champions League third qualifying round.

Celtic - on the back of two defeats from three games - have not kept a clean sheet since August 9 and will be happy to contain a free-flowing Ajax side in the opening minutes.
