Lamela leads a Spurs foray forward. The winger delays his pass and then pirouettes, causing Fabinho to foul him. Free kick to the away side 35 yards out.

Monaco need to up their tempo if they are going to turn this around. their build up was laboured for much of the first period and Spurs would welcome the same again.

CLOSE! Another nervy moment for Spurs. Adama Traore causes havoc down the left and teases a sumptuous low ball across the six-yard box but somehow Lacina Traore can't convert. It comes off Vertonghen's boot in the end. It could have gone anywhere.

After a slow-paced first 30 minutes the game suddenly burst into life there! About time too!

Chances galore inside 90 seconds! Lacina Traore nods down to Adama Traore who cuts inside and drives a deflected shot just wide of the near post. Spurs break forward immediately and Alli shows more great feet to turn in from the right and feed Kane, but the striker sees his shot palmed away by Subasic. Monaco respond and Lacina Traore has their best chance of the half when he rises to meet a left-wing cross but guides it wide at the back post with the goal gaping.

It was lovely work from Chadli in the build up to that goal. He darted down the right and set up Alli who was unlucky not to mark a big day by getting on the scoresheet.

GOAL!!!!! Spurs lead. Lamela taps into an empty net after Alli's dummy and shot was well saved initially by Subasic. A super counter from the visitors.

It would be fair to say Monaco have edged the half so far - but Spurs have had the best chance through Chadli.

Trippier gets in the way of the free kick and diverts it behind. Spurs ease the corner away from danger but it's the hosts who are slowly upping the ante here.

It was a silly trip by Lamela on Adama Traore. Will Spurs be punished?
