Evening all. Amazingly, tonight's game will be brought to you from an upbeat Old Trafford. United were superb in taking Chelsea apart on Sunday, their best performance since Spurs, Liverpool and Manchester City were beaten consecutively in spring 2015 and probably their best performance since that bloke cried off old. Surely they can't mess up one of the most gaping open nets in the history of European football?

This Michael Carrick's 451st United game. Decent effort.

Acheampong, who was dangeorus last week, crosses low, looking for Teodorczyk, but Rojo is first to it. Anderlecht quickly regain possession, though, and what an effort this is, Dendoncker slamming his foot across one, which sails just over the far angle.

Immediately United pin Anderlecht back and Carrick tips a pass into Mkhitaryan, who turns it around the corner for Lingard. Inside the box, right-hand side, he might shoot but crosses instead, and one of the 53 defenders between him and Zlatan gets in the road.

United kick-off. It looks like Mkhitaryan is the furthers forward midfielder, with Lingard on the right and Rashford on the left. I don't really get that. I mean I do - those players can play there - it's just amending much of what was best about the Chelsea performance.

I suppose one might criticise Mourinho for making five changes, but they're all positive ones. For me, the difference against Chelsea, other than of intensity, was in two strikers. We'll see how that works out tonight.

They're playing the Europa League anthem. Who doesn't get goosebumps simply from its opening bars?

Out come the players!

BT Are showing us some Tielemans. He didn't play well last week, and even then, most of Anderlecht's play went through him. In fairness, he did grow into the game, and United will be wary of him. It's unlikely he'll be as quiet again.

Scholes says he loved playing with Carrick, who was reliable and always in the right place, filling in gaps, covering if others go forward.

Michael Carrick, talking about Sunday's game, says it's rare to see a game where everyone plays a big part. This was another.

The Mauves actually have a mauve light.

Paul Scholes reckons Rashford should now be United's first-choice centre-forward. It's good to have him on board.
19:41
That said, a diamond's inherent weakness is too many players ahead of the ball, and Jose Mourinho is not exactly keen on that. So, most likely, it'll be 4-2-3-1, but you never know.
19:39
I wonder if United will play a diamond tonight. Rashford is far too good in the middle to be wasted on the wing, and Zlatan is far too immobile and also too profligate to play up front on his own. Along with that, Paul Pogba is useful on the left of a diamond, while Lingard and Mkhitaryan can both play on the right or at the tip.

Most significantly, Teodorczyk, Anderlecht's top-scorer, starts. He did in the weekend game at Ostende too, but missed the first leg of this tie.

Meanwhile...

That's five changes from the weekend: Out go De Gea, Darmian, Herrera, Fellaini and Young; in come Romero, Shaw, Carrick, Mkhitaryan and Ibrahimovic.
