Good evening and welcome to Eurosport’s LIVE text commentary of the Europa League semi-final first-leg clash between Marseille and RB Salzburg at the Orange Velodrome. This is the third meeting between the sides this campaign, with Salzburg claiming a win and a draw in the group stages. But Rudi Garcia’s side have a formidable home record and are slight favourites to make the final in Lyon. Marseille have won all but one of their eight home matches in Europe this season – with the exception of a goalless draw with Salzburg. Now there's added pressure, who can keep their cool?

It's advantage Marseille as they claim a two-goal advantage to take to Austria, courtesy of strikes by Thauvin and Njie. Salzburg couldn't control Payet who registered two assists on the night.
But this tie is far from over and Salzburg will feel they still have a strong chance of qualifying for the final in Lyon next month.

Marseille are holding on relatively comfortable with only one minute remaining. This would be a fantastic result for the Ligue 1 side.

Miss him yet, West Ham fans?

POST!
It's not going to be Salzburg's night, is it? Gulbrandsen meets a wonderful cross from Ulmer and his first-time effort cannons off the woodwork. Desperately unfortunate but it wasn't the easiest of chances.

It's interesting to note that Salzburg have scored a total of 44 goals in their last 16 competitive matches, but their shooting boots have been left in Austria tonight.

Salzburg have had their chances in the second half but haven't yet been able to find that elusive away goal.

OVER!
Lainer has enjoyed a fine game and he finds yet more space on the channel, this time teeing up Dabbur for a first-time shot, but the Salzburg forward gets it badly wrong as he blazes the ball well over from 15 yards. Disappointing.

Payet is back on his feet and seems fine to continue.

Marseille have already lost Oscampos to injury and now their best attacking player Payet goes down in some pain. He may need some attention here.
It's a good time to point out that Payet has now registered five assists in the knockout rounds.

The visitors have been the better side since the restart, and Marseille's goal was against the run of play.
Salzburg aren't prepared to throw the towel in though. Berisha tries his luck with a well-drilled shot but Pele makes the save, pushing the ball away from goal.

Is there any way back for Salzburg? They managed to score three goals in four second-leg minutes against Lazio and they will have to come from behind again if they are to reach the final next month. An away goal would be absolutely precious now.
