Good evening and welcome to Eurosport’s LIVE text commentary of the Europa League semi-final first-leg clash between Marseille and RB Salzburg at the Orange Velodrome. This is the third meeting between the sides this campaign, with Salzburg claiming a win and a draw in the group stages. But Rudi Garcia’s side have a formidable home record and are slight favourites to make the final in Lyon. Marseille have won all but one of their eight home matches in Europe this season – with the exception of a goalless draw with Salzburg. Now there's added pressure, who can keep their cool?

Ulmer's free-kick delivery is swung in towards the near post, it's inviting but none of his team mates are there to benefit and Pele collects.

Amavi has won Marseille a number of free-kicks in the first half but now he concedes one, in a dangerous area too, for a foul on Wolf.

Salzburg enjoying the majority of the possession now and after a shaky start they're looking much more solid in defence while also improving at the other end. Ten minutes until half time.

Mitroglu is allowed to turn on the edge of the box and fires a venomous shot at goal but Haidara is in the way.

The game is threatening to open up now, with both sides showing plenty of attacking intent. The home supporters have also toned it down a little, which will suit Salzburg.
30'
Salzburg made a slow start and are paying the price for it but they have been much better in the last few minutes. The visitors can move the ball at a frightening pace to turn defence into attack.
29'
Lainer loves to get forward for Salzburg - the full-back has 11 assists this season - and he doesn't turn down the opportunity to shoot as he is allowed to cut in from the channel, but his shot is comfortable enough for Pele.

OVER!
Caleta-Car gets his head to the corner delivery but fails to direct his header on goal. Better from Salzburg.

Dabbur twists and turns in a wide area, working his way to the by-line. He delivers a teasing cross which Marseille are forced to clear behind for a corner.
23'
A pin-point pass from Payet sets Mitroglou on his way but he's put under severe pressure by Lainer and loses track of the ball.

Hwang has yards of space to fire a shot away from the edge of the box but instead the Salzburg forward tries to slip through Dabbur. It's the wrong choice as he overcooks the pass and Pele is off his line to gather.

WIDE!
Marseille are finding acres of space behind the visitors' midfield and this time Sanson tries his luck, but the goalkeeper watches it all the way and the effort from 25 yards is always going wide.

It appeared to be clean header, but replays suggest the final touch may have came off Thauvin's hand. Controversy.

GOAALLLLLL! Marseille 1-0 Salzburg
Salzburg concede yet another free-kick and this time they are punished! It's a much better delivery from Payet as he curls the ball to the back post, leaving Thauvin with a simple header.
It's a perfect start for the hosts.

This time Payet overcooks his cross and the visitors survive for now.

Amavi is causing Salzburg all kind of problems on that right flank and again he wins a free-kick, this time drawing the foul from Hwang. Can Marseille make this one count?
12'
The free-kick is unusually poor and Salzburg clear the cross with little fuss.
11'
Salzburg concede a cheap free-kick as Haidara catches Amavi with a late tackle. Obviously Payet is over the ball and this time he will swing the delivery into the penalty box from the right channel.
