SC Freiburg v West Ham live: Mohammed Kudus starts in Germany

I'm looking forward to watching him tonight. He looks to have a bit of everything, a 21st century midfielder - he can go box-to-box in the traditional manner, but has the feet of a modern attacker. If he plays well tonight, West Ham will be difficult to stop.

He knows this is a difficult game but they've got a process and it's brought them some success so they'll stick to it. Asked about Jarrod Bowen's England inclusion, he refuses to answer questions on that prior to a West Ham game. Otherwise, he's sad for the fans who aren't able to travel, away fans having been banned following bad behaviour by some at the Conference League final.

West Ham will, I think, be looking for Kudus and Bowen to run in behind and for the midfielders to play in pockets around the box. I say that because both their wing-backs are defenders, while all three of those midfielders are attacking playwrs.

Freiburg make two changes to the team that beat Augsburg, both in midfield. The injured Keitel and Doan drop out, with Hofler and Adamu coming in - the latter for his club debut.

Both West Ham and Freiburg won their opening match and both have made reasonable starts to their league seasons. As such, this game will be a good test for both sides and it's unsurprising to see both managers pick strong lineups. This should be decent.
