Sidwell goes in and challenges Giggs as he looked to shoot from the edge of the area. United wanted a free-kick but it is waved away.

Pretty lazy defending from United allows Ruiz to get a shot away but it is blocked at close range and De Gea can then stroll out and gather.

Anderson – who has impressed – sets up another United attack but Rooney miscontrols his pass and Fulham clear.

Hangeland clears on the edge of the box as Hernandez's first touch is just a little too heavy.

Some nice build up play by United by Rooney's ball is intercepted by Riise – Baird then gives it away straight away but United can't take advantage.

Fulham finally have an attempt on goal as Sascha Riether tries a low shot from distance but it just goes wide of the target.

ANOTHER GOOD SAVE FROM SCHWARZER….Fulham back off Anderson – he plays it to Giggs down the left who puts in a low cross – Rooney is there but Schwarzer blocks his shot from point-blank range.

Fulham finally attack with a bit of purpose but Kacaniklic just strays offside – might have been level.

There are about 70,000 inside Old Trafford today but you can hear shouting from players on the pitch. There was some criticism that this game was picked for television ahead of the clashes involving non-league sides and it really has not been much of a contest so far.

Now Rooney tries a shot from distance that's saved by Schwarzer. Again too straight but United just peppering the Fulham goal. Too easy.

Nani turns Riise well inside the box but he curls a shot wide of the target. Both Rooney and Hernadez were looking for a pass.

Nani gets good pop on a shot from the edge of the D from a standing position straight at Schwarzer though.

Fulham having plenty of the ball but there is a lack of urgency in their play. That goes for their defending too which has been very lethargic. United in cruise control.

GREAT SAVE SCHWARZER! Anderson slipped in Nani who fired across a good ball. Rooney did well to control it but his finish should have been better – still a great save by Schwarzer.

UNITED SHOULD HAVE ANOTHER PENALTY! And again it was for handball as Giggs' looped ball hits the arm of Duff.

Very good work from Anderson who tidies things up in defensively before starting a counter attack.

Evra wins a corner for United off Riether. Rooney's cross goes all the way to the other corner flag and Jones' cross back in goes wide.

Fulham have actually had more possession – 54 per cent so far.
