Already more action at the start of this second half than in most of the first.

Henderson almost through at the other end following good skill in the box from Allen but a great challenge denies him. Good start to this half as Liverpool force a corner.

Blackburn have come out an entirely different team. Really going for it.

That’s the closest either side has come to a goal and the Championship side unlucky not to be ahead. Liverpool have their keeper to thank.

GOOD SAVE MIGNOLET! It’s a swerving shot from Cairney that Mignolet punches away for a corner. And another great save onto the post from Mignolet from Marshall’s header.

No changes for either side as this half gets underway.

We’re back underway here at Ewood Park and hopefully it will get better. A very drab first half with few chances.

HALF TIME: Blackburn Rovers 0-0 Liverpool

Plenty of possession for Liverpool but Blackburn well organised. Not much space at all as this half draws to a close.

A really poor cross from Henderson and it’s out for a goal kick. Frustration growing for Liverpool.

Coutinho again encouraged to shoot but a challenge from Marshall takes the pace off it and it’s easy for Eastwood.

Dangerous cross from Marshall towards Rhodes produces a nervous punch from Mignolet. Haven’t been enough of those balls from Blackburn.

Liverpool ramping up the tempo towards the end of the half. You feel that if they get a goal, Rovers could fold. Coutinho shoots well over the bar.

Not too many chances this half. Not a classic cup tie, by any means but a riveting one, all the same.

Liverpool force another corner. It falls to Coutinho and he shoots through a sea of legs and Eastwood makes a good save. Saw it very late.
