Arsenal break when Cech releases a throw swiftly, but Sunderland quickly drop deep.

Arsenal win a corner on the right wing. They're traditionally fearsome at set pieces, but this time Chambers heads the ball 20 yards wide.

Fletcher is caught after winning a header, and will need a couple of minutes of treatment before he can get back on the pitch. Or, wait, maybe a few seconds.

Sunderland have a corner on the left, it runs to Cattermole on the edge of the box, and he volleys an effort approximately six miles over the crossbar.

A lull in the game as neither side can find any rhythm.

Oxlade-Chamberlain sees an opening for a shot from 25 yards, but although it's hit firmly, it's yards wide.

Walcott curls in a shot from the left, and Pickford beats it away as it bounces in front of him, just over Campbell's head.

GOAL! Arsenal 1-1 Sunderland. Campbell scores - Walcott drives into the box, turns Yedlin as he gets to the touchline. He pulls back a cross for Campbell, cutting in from the right, and he finishes neatly past Pickford.

Pickford claims a cross at the back post from Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Gibbs attacks down the left, and lays it back to Chambers. Bellerin and Campbell then team up on the right, but Van Aanholt tackles Campbell to concede a throw.

Gabriel is back to defend a corner from the left. Toivonen wrestles for a high second ball, but nothing comes from it. Cech launches a long ball forward, and Pickford fluffs a clearance. Fortunately it's to a green shirt.

Gabriel is off the pitch, but happily jogging about, so will probably return shortly.

Gabriel goes down in agony at the corner after he falls, and Fletcher's heft lands on his legs.

Sunderland have dropped right back now. Iwobi almost equalises with a burst of pace into the box, and his shot from a tight angle is put behind by Coates after Pickford is beaten.

GOAL! Arsenal 0-1 Sunderland. Lens scores - Watmore is tackled in attack, the ball comes to Koscielny, who isn't capable of controlling an almost motionless ball. Lens steals in to tackle, advances on goal, and fires in a shot past Cech.

Bellerin hooks a clearance away straight to a Sunderland player, and Van Aanholt sends a cross from the left well over the bar.

A miserable game at the moment, with little of merit from either side. Sunderland play it long, Arsenal aren't familiar enough to play their usual stuff.

Giroud is given a ball to chase down the left-hand channel by Oxlade-Chamberlain, but it runs out of play.

From the corner on the left, the ball bounces it up awkwardly for the static Chambers, and he heads well voer.

Gibbs is released into the box on the left, he fires a shot at goal from an angle, but Pickford beats it away.

Sunderland build from the back, before Bellerin cuts out a long ball down the left to concede a throw.
