Everton again look for Lukaku, but he can't quite bring the ball under control at the back stick.
    24'
The ball flashes across the box from Aaron Lennon, but Lukaku is on his heels and fails to get on the end of it.

The Goodison Park crowd scream for a card (again) as Kenedy makes another foul. There was nothing in that one though and the ref just has a quiet word with the Chelsea youngster.
    22'
Everton are stroking the ball around nicely, taking the sting out of the game and probing for holes in the Chelsea defence.
    20'
Much of the drama is coming from the stands, with a noticeable lack of chances in the game so far. The midfield is congested and space is at a premium.

Now it's Kennedy and Coleman who clash at pace. The Goodison Park faithful (who are one of the more one-eyed Premier League crowds in truth) scream for punishment from the ref. No cards are shown and the horde roars in disgust.

Pedro is moving gingerly, but he's going to be fine to continue.

Pedro is down and receiving treatment. Everton have no intention of playing nice today - some of the tackles have been extremely firm.

Lukaku looks to burst in behind the high Chelsea defensive line, but it's cut out at full stretch by Ivanovic.

Costa is felled again in the centre of the park. The 'Spaniard' has been in the thick of the action in the opening minutes, positioning himself as the cartoon villain straight away.

There are a lot of tweets coming through about Costa, but this one seems to sum it up best:

It took Costa less than a minute to get his 'revenge', clattering in to Barry and picking up a booking for his trouble. The Everton fans were screaming for a red, but that would have been a little harsh.
    8'
Barry catches Costa with a rough challenge and it's a free-kick to Chelsea. The Everton man better watch out... you don't want to make Costa angry.

Costa's run is halted by the assistant's flag. Neither team have really clicked in the final third quite yet, but the tempo is extremely high.
    6'
It's a lively atmosphere at Goodison, as the sun begins to set and the floodlights start to take over.

Kenedy shoots over after a strong run down the left. It's end-to-end stuff in the opening stages at Goodison - which is something the home fans are extremely used to.

Everton pour forward (which won't be the first time I say that), but the flag is up as Lukaku looks to play Coleman in behind.

The ball breaks for Cleverley to have a pop from the edge of the box in the opening moments, but Courtois makes a comfortable stop.
