Oscar scuffs a shot on the edge of the box, but it's very nearly enough to bag him the hat-trick. Martin is rooted to the spot and watches on with relief as the ball trickles inches wide of the post.

Carruthers is a clever footballer and he produces arguably the moment of the match, controlling a bouncing ball with a touch that dragged it down from the heavens. He then sets up a break, but Forster-Caskey's shot flies over the bar.

MK Dons have been lauded as a team with a bright future, but on today's evidence they are still some way short of being able to compete on the biggest stage. Some of their football has been terrific, but Chelsea are on a different level.

Oscar is on a hat-trick, but Martin makes him wait for the third goal with a smart save. It's just so easy for Chelsea to get in behind the MK Dons defence, which is as much a damning indictment of the lack of pressure in midfield as it is a criticism of the back four.

Chelsea have their swagger back. They are way too far behind to be a threat to the title chasers in the Premier League, but this competition is a possibility for them to rescue something from the campaign and the signs are that they will be heading through to the fifth round today.

GOOOAAALLL!!! Chelsea are back ahead and it's Oscar again. The build-up is free-flowing, with Loftus-Cheek sliding through a pass to Oscar inside the box after a lovely passing move in midfield. The angle is tight and there's a man on him, but the Brazilian doesn't falter and his finish into the far corner is emphatic. 2-1 Chelsea. Fully deserved.

Terry is painfully lacking in pace and he's caught out again, catching Carruthers with a sliding tackle that never looked like winning the ball. That's a booking for the skipper.

It's so, so easy for Chelsea... but the score is still 1-1.

It's a Keystone Cops moment for Chelsea as the ball is slid across the face of goal with Oscar waiting to tap it into an empty net. The away fans are already celebrating as Costa slides in to get a toe to the cross ahead of Oscar, taking it away from his team-mate and also diverting the ball wide of the far post.

Martin makes another brilliant save to deny Hazard one-on-one. His first save turns the ball on to the post and then he's alert enough to deny the Belgian's second attempt.

This is a brilliantly open cup tie, but the MK Dons defence are being torn apart way too easily. Karl Robinson needs to tighten it up before the game is over and done with as a contest.

That goal has come completely against the run of play, but it hasn't knocked Chelsea out of their stride. The visitors are straight back on the front foot from the kick-off.

GOOOAAALLL!!! MK Dons are back level. Darren Potter has a pop on the edge of the box and the shot takes a wicked deflection off the trailing leg of Matic and loops over the helpless goalkeeper. It's a real slice of luck, but they all count. 1-1.

Gary's not exaggerating to try and get people to tune in to the BBC... Chelsea are genuinely putting on a real show.

The visitors break in numbers and Loftus-Cheek is played in by Hazard. The pass is slightly behind the youngster, but he still manages to get a powerful shot away. Martin makes the save.

Chelsea are absolutely bossing this. The goal was a bit of a gift, but the visitors could be 4-0 up and we haven't even got to 20 minutes on the clock.
