Afternoon all, and welcome to yet another tedious tie in this most tedious of all FA Cup draws. Liverpool-Wolves, Wycombe-Spurs, Sutton-Leeds? What a load of nonsense. Still, at least we've been granted a rare opportunity to see little Manchester United on television.

Some football! Martial burns through the centre of the pitch and lays it wide for Fosu-Mensah, whose low cross is excellent, on a plate for Mkhitaryan at the far post. But he's far too casual with his finish, assuming all it needs is contact to score, so instead of directing it across goal he ankle it high over the near post from four yards.

What this game needs to get even worse is a scabby United goal. On the other hand, it being so bad makes a shock more likely, so there's that.

Jacobs takes on Fosu-Mensah, who bundles him to the floor for kicks and cedes a free-kick in a decent position. Power's over it and swings a cross into the box, but United get it away.

Rooney loses the ball in midfield and detains the ref in aggravation, while, in the meantime, Power strides forward and wallops a long shot that Romero knuckles clear.

United have been a little better these last few minutes, moving it about across the face of the Wigan backline without contriving any threat whatsoever. But then Shaw flips a nice ball towards Mkhitaryan inside the box, and though Burn beats him to the header, he succeeds only in teeing up Mata, who can't quite get over the bouncing ball and drives over the top before looking pained.

Some going, given United have had 70% of it.
22'
United's front players have had hardly any of the ball so far because their midfield can't get a hold of it.

"Given away by Rooney", words I daresay we'll hear again this afternoon. But Power's cross, looking for Connolly, is lifted away by Rojo.

Or "action". Yes, it's that miserable.

I don't know this tune, but it sounds like a belter. I need this Twitter narrating the mundanity of my everyday life.

Wigan win a free-kick just outside the centre-circle, then switch the angle before hoisting it looking for the exceedingly tall Burn. But it's right at Romero, who catches and hammers downfield looking for Martial, depositing the ball nowhere near him.

Perkins slides a pass towards Grigg, pulling down the left side of the box, and Mkhitaryan does well to nip in front of him, sway outside, shimmy inside, and get the ball clear.
15'
Fellaini jabs a low pass at Rooney and he waits for it to come to him, so Perkins snaps in - that's the difference between the sides so far.

Clive Allen reckons United are playing too many sideways passes. Apropos of nothing, Van Gaal prefect Schweinsteiger is playing.

Smalling wins the ball just outside the centre-circle and squares to Schweinsteiger, who lets it run across him and steps over. But he's not getting that time, Jacobs nipping in before being hauled down. Again, there's no booking, but the free-kick is punted towards the giant Burn at the far post, and he heads down for Connolly, who pastes a shot straight at Romero - it's punched away, foreignly.

A party, Wigan-style.

Morsy foxes Fellaini in centrefield, so Fellaini holds him back with customary finesse. The ref decides not to book him for reasons known best to himself.

You might have deduced that not very much is going on. This is not altogether surprising, given United largely wasted the first halves against both Liverpool and Hull.
