Afternoon all, and welcome to yet another tedious tie in this most tedious of all FA Cup draws. Liverpool-Wolves, Wycombe-Spurs, Sutton-Leeds? What a load of nonsense. Still, at least we've been granted a rare opportunity to see little Manchester United on television.

Done to death, yes, but if you did A-levels in 1997, you'll never tire of hearing this, and at least Will Grigg is actually playing.

Wigan's tops are the absolute pits, skin-tight, with two Kappa emblems on each shoulder and a sponsor across the shoulder blades.

Mkhitaryan and Schweinsteiger work the ball clear nicely - Schweinsteiger even manages some sprinting, of sorts, and Rooney spreads right to Martial, who humps a cross over the bar.

I'm not certain what formation United are playing, but it looks almost a 4-2-4, with Martial and Rooney through the middle, Mkhitaryan on the left and Mata on the right.

United get us underway.

Wiga have won the toss and opted to kick towards the Scoreboard End, presumably to prevent United kicking towards the Stretford End in the second half. I'm certain it'll make all the difference.

Wayne Rooney has been presented with a golden boot kicking a golden football by Sir Robert Charlton. I'm not sure why.

Here come the teams....

Sutton United have beaten Leeds United! Fantastic!
15:52
Also incidentally, Bastian Schweinsteiger hasn't played a United match in over a year. Probably because he's not exactly lithe these days, plus is on huge wages, but perhaps Mourinho has noted that Carrick was hustled out of games against Liverpool and Hull, so he needs an alternative in that position.

So, what can we expect from Wigan? Probably not very much. They're third-bottom of the Championship - though have won their last two games, so one never knows, does one?
15:49
Incidentally - or not at all incidentally really - elsewhere, Sutton United lead Leeds United by 1-0, with Leeds down to ten men!

I'd love to see a race featuring the three members of United's midfield. I'd go Fellaini, then a dead head between Mata and Schweinsteiger in third, neither of them finishing.

So, looking a little more closely at that United side, it's an unusual one in that every player, bar Timothy Fosu-Mensah, will occupy their best position. It's also a big day for Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial, both of whom are the best players United have in their positions, neither of whose attitude appears to have much impressed Jose Mourinho.

Wigan, meanwhile, are unchanged - which is to say that "our friend Reece James"* is on the bench.
