ANOTHER GOOD SAVE FROM DE GEA! Aguero overran the ball, but it turned into a good pass to Sterling on the edge of the area. He returned the ballt to Aguero, who made an angled rund round the defence - think QPR in 2012 - and hit a rising drive that was slapped round the near post by De Gea.

United beat the City press for the first time, with Williams and Fred showing superb skill and courage in a dangerous area. It comes to nothing, but that was a bit more encouraging for United.

It feels like a City goal is imminent. They are all over United like a cheap simile.

United just can't get out at the moment. City are stopping the counter-attack at source with a very high press. It's been a brilliant start from them.

NO PENALTY! Maguire's a bit fortunate there. He slipped and ploughed into Sterling, who looked set to get on the end of a cross from the right.

City appeal for a penalty when Sterling goes down under challenge from Maguire. Kevin Friend says no, but this might be given by VAR...

ANOTHER SAVE FROM DE GEA! This time he reacts smartly to save with his feet from Mahrez's deflected shot. United are under all sorts of pressure now.

FINE SAVE FROM DE GEA! Gundogan clipped a lovely angled pass over the top for Aguero, who pulled away from Shaw and stooped to head back across goal from eight yards. De Gea flew to his right to palm it away. That was a superb reaction save.

City are starting to impose themselves on the game. United haven't settled as an attacking unit.

Rodri's stinging long-range shot is blocked by Lingard.

No action to report so far. It's a really interesting City formation, with Rodri and Gundogan sitting in front of the back three to stop United's counter-attacks.

It looks like City's formation is a 3-2-4-1, with Otamendi the only recognised centre-back. Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo are playing slightly narrower than usual.
