Simeone is once again asking his team to get the ball into the corners. This has been a really strange second half. Rayo Vallecano look a very dangerous team when they come forward but their defensive weaknesses have let them down.

Rayo Vallecano are now coming foward in waves as the clock winds down, with Courtois pulling off a good save from Falque, whose shot took a big deflection off an Atletico defender on its way through to goal.

The cross comes into the Rayo Vallecano box and it looks like Ruben has the simple job of jumping and catching the ball. But strangely he drops it and it bounces at the feet of his defenders, who clear.

Simeone is gesturing to his team to get the ball into the corners and play it into the channels for Costa to chase. Rayo Vallecano have Atletico Madrid a bit worried here.

Rayo Vallecano need to score soon if they are to get something out of this game. Doesn't look like they can do it, to me.

Bueno comes forward once again and shoots at goal from about 20 yards but as has happened so often tonight his effort goes over the bar, with his claims for a corner turned down.

Bueno tries to bend a shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the box but his effort flashes past the post with Courtois unconcerned.

And still Costa is on the pitch. It looked like the striker was going to be subbed due to injury after about 25 minutes but Simeone has decided to keep Costa on the pitch.

Atletico Madrid sub: David Villa OFF, Raul Garcia ON.

Filipe Luis is presented with a good chance to add a fifth of the night for Atletico but after being played through by Turan he chips into the side netting from a relatively tight angle.

Two goals in two minutes and Rayo Vallecano have once again given themselves a glimmer of hope. Atletico Madrid just can't kill off this game for good.

Now the home side go up the other end of the pitch and play the bll to Trashorras on the edge of the box, who flashes his shot wide of the post.

The space opens up for Rodriguez who winds up a shot from the best part of 25 yards but the ball sails high of the target. That was a waste. He was almost given an invitation to shoot!
