I think Atletico Madrid are also missing Mandzukic up front. Without him they lack something of a battering ram. Jimenez is a good player but he doesn't have the same kind of presence.

The Vicente Calderon crowd is just beginning to get slightly restless with the level of possession Celta Vigo are having at the moment. They've had hold of the ball for the past two minutes or so!

You just wonder if the game against Olympiakos n Athens during the week has taken it out of Atletico Madrid. Dare I say it, but they almost look tired. There is certainly a dip in their tempo.

The away side are looking confident and ae stretching Atletico Madrid across the pitch, who are failing to close them down with the usual intensity of their game. They need to up it!

Instinctive save by Sergio! Juanfran clips a cross to the near post where Griezman has made a run across goal, but his flicked header is saved at the near post by the Celta Vigo keeper.

Celta Vigo are a good side on the ball. Atletico Madrid's passing game has been off so far tonight. They just aren't close enough to the visitors when they have possession.

Atletico Madrid come close to an immediate reply! Griezmann flicks up the ball with his first touch and tries to find the far corner with a volleyed shot but it flashes wide and over. Fantastic.

GOAL! Atletico Madrid 0 Celta Vigo 1 (19 mins - Pablo Hernandez). What a sensational goal! The long ball comes over the top and Hernandez sticks out a leg to backheel it on the volley into the net.

It's almost as if Atletico Madrid need to settle down their play a bit. They're chasing the ball so hard that when they get the ball they're trying to counter as quick as they can, but it's careless attacking.

What a chance for Atletico! The best passing move of the game sees Juanfran pick out the run of Tiago inside the box, but the former Chelsea midfielder puts his shot wide of the target.

Gabi and Koke are playing some nice stuff in the centre of midfield, but they are lacking any kind of real understanding with Griezmann. The new players still haven't bedded in at Atletico.

Simeone is up in the stands, serving his ban. He looks uncomfortable. He doesn't like not being on the touchline.

Juanfran does well to get to the byline down the right side before cutting the ball back for Griezmann, but the French attacker's touch lets him down and Celta Vigo get back into their shape.

This will be an interesting contest, because although Atletico are the clear favourites to claim a win they will sit back and invite pressure on top of themselves. Celta will see a lot of the ball.

After Real Madrid's 8-2 win over Deportivo earlier today the pressure is on Atletico to provide a similar statement of intent. Their form has been patchy over the past couple months.

Of course, Celta Vigo lost Luis Enrique over the summer to Barcelona but the style that he imposed on this side still remains. They like to pass the ball and break teams down gradually.

Good chance for the home side as Turan bursts forward from deep, but Jimenez puts his effort way over the bar from about 20 yards. He should have done better with that.

Sergio is fortunate to get a freekick after coming off his line and failing to collect the ball cleanly. He was struggling to impose himself underneath that freekick from Atletico Madrid.
