This win will draw Real Madrid to within two points of Liga leaders Barcelona, keeping alive their hopes of winning their first league title in three years. They're on Barca's coat tails.

Real Madrid were unhappy that Celta Vigo didn't kick the ball out of play for an injury to Kroos, with Krohn-Dehli and Carvajal both talking their way into the refreees' book. Petulant.

Real Madrid, as you might expect, have taken the chance to knock the ball about the centre of midfield and along the backline as they try to regain some control of this contest.

The home side aren't giving this up without a fight. They are slinging crosses into the Real Madrid penalty area, but for the time being the away side are holding form at the back.

Of course, with Marcelo and Carvajal still on the field Real Madrid are effectively playing a 5-4-1, with Ronaldo as the lone frontman. This could be their way of seeing the match out.

Indeed, Ancelotti was holding up three fingers when he replaced Hernandez with Pepe, which means that Real Madrid have gone to three at the back. Not sure I've seen this from them before.

Oh, what a spoilsport, Ancelotti. With Hernandez on a hat-trick the Mexican striker has been withdrawn, and has been replaced by.... Pepe! Looks like Real Madrid are going to three at the back.

You would think that Hernandez's goal secures the win for Real Madrid now. Although perhaps not, given the way this game has gone. What a fun, crazy encounter this has been.
