Celta Vigo only know how to play one way, and so the home side are continuing to press high up the pitch and look dangerous on the counter attack. Real Madrid are trying to contain them a bit more.

And make no mistake, the Mexican has been impressive in his past couple games. Benzema's injury has given him a chance in the lineup, but Hernandez has so far made the most of it.

Reportedly Real Madrid must make up their mind by the end of April if they are to sign Hernandez on a permanent basis. So the on loan Man Utd striker couldn't have timed this surge better.

He should have done better with that. Celta Vigo work the ball along the edge of the Real Madrid box and play the ball out to Mallo who has made his way up from right back. But he lashes his shot wide.

Isco must do more to make an impression in this second half. His form in general has been poor over the past few weeks. He had been a shining light of Real Madrid's season, as well.

So how can this second half live up to what the opening 45 minutes served up? Real Madrid and Celta Vigo both came out and attacked, but will they take a different tact after the break?

The second half is under way at the Balaidos! It's Celta Vigo against Real Madrid in La Liga, and the away side hold a 3-2 lead.

HALF TIME: Celta Vigo 2-3 Real Madrid. What a fun opening 45 minutes of football. Celta Vigo have gone all out attack, but they have been outgunned as the half-time whistle blows.

GOOOOOOOOOAL! Celta Vigo 2 Real Madrid 3 (44 mins - James Rodriguez). That was a gift! Celta give up the ball easily, with James shooting from the edge of the box. The effort took a deflction and ended up in the near corner of the net.

That was Ronaldo's first real chance of the game. He has struggled to find much in the final third, but that was an opportunity. He probably should have scored, to be honest.

Ronaldo hits the post! The Real Madrid number seven breaks through the Celta Vigo backline at pace, and squeezes a reverse shot past Sergio in goals. But his effort comes back off the woodwork.

There hasn't been too much flow to Real Madrid's play in the centre of the pitch. They're playing it long too often, with Illarramendi doing little to show he should stay at the club beyond this summer.

Ronaldo thought he was onside! The winger waited and waited for the ball to be released by Kroos, but the flag was up when the pass was eventually made. Correct call from the linesman.

Larrivey does really well to take a pass with the outside of his heel, freeing up a yard of space for the shot in goal. But Varane was right on top of him, and the shot was tame in the end.

Isco has struggled to make much of an impact in this first half. In fact, the Spanish playmaker has been struggling for form in general over the past couple of months. Hasn't made an impression.

Some teams might be tempted to pack things at the back and see out the first half until the break, but that's not really the Celta Vigo way. They're looking to counter at every possible opportunity.
