Messi continues to play very deep and he twists and turns on halfway before losing the ball, only for Elche to give it straight back.

It's all very neat and tidy from the visitors, but they are yet to test Tyton in the Elche goal.

Pique punts a long ball in Messi's direction, but Tyton is quickly off his line to gather the loose ball.

Messi is dropping very deep to collect the ball and spread it around, with Elche happy for him to roam when not in the final third.

Pedro commits a foul on Aaron of Elche, and the play is broken up in the midfield.

Finally Elche have the ball down on the ground and are able to enjoy a few passes of their own. It's been a very slow start.

Neymar plays a pass through intended for Messi but it's overhit and the ball runs tamely out of play for a goal kick.

It's all Barcelona early on and Elche have barely touched the ball.

Barcelona keep the ball very calmly in their own half as Elche sit very deep.
