Mathieu is still playing on the left side of the Barcelona defence. I think we'll see some sort of change there in the second half. Could the French defender be moved into a more central position?

That's quite a cynical foul by Modric, who takes down Suarez as he moves forward on goal. But the referee refuses to show the Croatian a booking when he showed four Barca players yellow cards in the first half.

Marcelo is giving Barcelona plenty to think about on the left wing, this time picking out Rodriguez with a cross into the box that Pique somehow misses. But the Colombian can only get his chest on it to make a connection. Should have done better. Much better.

After a lively start Suarez has been a little quiet for Barcelona. Is it too much to ask that he will sink his teeth into the shoulder of Pepe at some point in this game? Come on Luis. Be a sport.

Enrique sprung a surprise with his selection of Xavi in his starting lineup, but so far he has been crucial for Barcelona in this game. They need him to give them control against a team as good as Real.

Unsurprisingly Real Madrid are looking to break at pace at every opportunity they get. Even without Bale they are so dangerous when they come flying forward with the speed of Ronaldo, Benzema and Isco.

Mathieu is surging up and down the left wing, as he deputy for the missing Jordi Alba. He doesn't quite have the energy and pace of Alba, but he's doing a decent job nonetheless.

This game is coming to the boil really nicely. After an impressive start from Barcelona, now it's Real Madrid who are pushing hard to find another goal. Goodness knows what this could end up as!
