OBLAK HAS TO MAKE THE SAVE FROM MIKU! The Rayo Vallecano attacker managed to create some space for himself to get the shot away, but the Atletico keeper beats it away.

Much of the focus in attack will fall on Correa today. Vietto is also starting for Atletico Madrid this evening, with Simeone resting many of his key players ahead of the second leg against Bayern Munich.

Atletico Madrid have started the match well. At least, their pressing game is forcing Rayo Vallecano into mistakes. They are forcing them into uncomfortable positions at the back.

Barcelona face Real Betis later this evening. So can Atletico Madrid keep the pressure on the Catalans with a victory over Rayo Vallecano here? They have started quite well.

Real Madrid went top of the Liga table earlier this afternoon with a win over Real Sociedad. Gareth Bale scored the winning goal with just 10 minutes left to play at the Anoeta.

And so Simeone is in the stand for this one. Will that have any kind of impact on the Atletico Madrid players on the pitch? Their coach is something of a conductor when he's on the touchline.

Of course, Simeone is missing from the touchline for this match. In fact, the Argentine coach won't stand on the touchline again this season after being handed a three match suspension.

That was something of an opportunity for Amaya. The defending was slack from the set piece by Atletico Madrid, but the defender couldn't make the most of the half chance he was given.

There's no Antoine Griezmann in Atletico Madrid's starting lineup this evening. Simeone has taken the decision to rest the French attacker with such big games on the horizon.

Rayo Vallecano play the same way in every match they play. They never change their style, which is admirable, but that means that they often make mistakes at the back. Like they did there.

WHAT A CHANCE FOR ATLETICO MADRID! Correa takes the shot clean through on goal after a mistake at the back, but Carlos does brilliantly to tip it round the post on the dive.

Simeone has made no less than seven changes to his side for the match tonight. Remember, they have a Champions League semi-final second leg to think about next week.

First effort on goal is struck by Rayo Vallecano, with Embarba taking range from distance. But Oblak wasn't really troubled by that in truth. Setting his sights early on.

The last few weeks has seen the title race in Spain take some astonishing turns. Barcelona looked to have it sewn up but have allowed both Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid back into it.

The title race continues with this Madrid derby. Rayo Vallecano have conceded more goals than any other side in Spain this season, whilst Atletico have conceded the fewest.
