Sergi Roberto has been handed the starting place in the centre of the field tonight by Luis Enrique. He has actually played quite a bit this term, but it has mainly been at right back.

With Messi and Iniesta missing the onus will fall on Neymar to provide Barcelona with a spark in the final third. He has been excellent for the Catalans over the past two years, and now he's the main man.

Neymar lines up the freekick himself after winning it, he looks to go low with the strike but it took a big deflected off the wall and the Rayo Vallecano keeper can make the simple catch.

First chance for Neymar to drive at the Rayo backline, but Rat comes across and commits the foul on the Brazilian. This is a chance to have a shot at goal from the edge of the box!

Injuries to Messi and Rafinha have left Barcelona short of attacking depth. They actually appealed to have Arda Turan registered but that appeal was rejected. They are struggling for players.

Of course, Lionel Messi is still missing for Barcelona and will be missing for some time to come, as well. Andres Iniesta is also absent from the Barca starting lineup against Rayo.

Real Madrid went to the top of La Liga with a win over Levante earlier today, so how will Barcelona respond here? Their form hasn't been great of late, but they will surely win this one?
