MOMO BLASTS OVER! Once again Modric loses the ball in the centre of the pitch, with Nili's shot blocked. The rebound falls to Momo, but from a tight angle he sends it high and wide.

What is going on with Modric? The Croatian is usually so secure in possession, but he has been really slack on the ball so far. He's getting his team into all kinds of trouble here.

Now Ronaldo has an effort on goal from distance, but Varas has the simple task of getting his body behind it to make the stop. The Real Madrid number seven is shooting on sight.

WILLIAN JOSE SHOULD HAVE SCORED! Modric gives up the ball cheaply allowing the Las Palmas striker clean through on goal, but Navas comes out to make the smothering save.

Could you imagine if that had been the other way around? Ronaldo had Bale in a good position down the wing but the former decides to take the shot from 30 yards and fires wide.

Navas had to come off his line to make the punch there! The ball into the Real Madrid box by Garrido was a looping one, but the Real Madrid goalkeeper dealt with it to clear the danger.

The home side have actually settled into this match relatively well. Real Madrid are having to do their fair share of chasing the ball. Las Palmas don't look rattled by their opposition.

Casemiro is also in the starting lineup for Real Madrid on the Canary Islands. The Brazilian has forced his way into the reckoning in the last few games. He was a Benitez signing.

Bale has made a difference since returning from injury. The Welsh winger has become one of the most important figures at Real Madrid. Zidane needs him to be fully fit.

There's also a place for Lucas in the Real Madrid starting lineup. The youngster has been brought into the fold by Zidane and has impressed in the last few matches, so he keeps his spot.

There's a rare start for Arbeola for Real Madrid tonight. The former Liverpool man doesn't get much of a chance now with Carvajal and Danilo around, but he's playing tonight.

By this point I think it's largely assumed that Real Madrid are playing for pride. They are surely out of the title race and so they are probably playing for second place with Atletico Madrid.
