Real Madrid starting this match really well, but Eibar look to have got a grip of the match and are feeling their way into the contest. The hosts are starting to mount their own attacks.

Pepe has been handed a starting place by Zidane for this match. His contract is up at the end of the season and recent reports suggest he won't be staying at Real Madrid.

Leon plays against his former club this afternoon. The Real Madrid youth product is the danger man for Eibar. He's the one that can make things happen for them in the final third.

He just didn't have the pace to get on the end of that ball. It was played in behind the Eibar defensive line, but Benzema couldn't reach it before it drifted out of play.

But then Zidane would probably argue that he has made so many changes to prepare his team for the number of fixtures they will have to play between now and the end of the season.

Zidane has come in for some criticism from the Madrid press over the past few days. They say that he has made too many changes to his side over the past few weeks.

Benzema has been handed the starting place up front for Real Madrid this afternoon, but only because Morata is suspended. There is a feeling that Benzema has dropped down the order.

Of course, this won't necessarily be a difficult game for Real Madrid. They face an Eibar side who are 7th in the league table at the moment. They are punching above their weight.

The encouraging sign for Real Madrid is that they look fired up for this one. They better be. If they aren't fired up for this game then they never will be. Three points is a must.

Of course, Real Madrid also had to come from behind tpo beat Villarreal in the game before that. They are making things difficult for themselves at the moment.

This is a massive game for Real Madrid. They are suffering something of a slump at the moment, drawing at home to Las Palmas during the weekend. They need three points here.
