Nice from Carrasco, who nashes outside two men down the left - that's one way of eliminating a massed defence - and whips back a cross for Griezmann, who tries a whip of his own, to finish. But it's with his right foot, and the shot goes well wide.

Atleti have created nothing in the last 15 minutes. Perhaps the might try a few shots, because with so many defenders serried so deep, their crosses are struggling to cause any aggravation.

Filipe Luis dances infiled and threads a delicious nutmeg through Unai Lopez's legs, so Matovani chugs right through him, and is booked. The free-kick is 25 yards out, more or less dead centre, bit Griezmann clips a shot straight into the wall.

It's been a while since Leganes gave up a chance. They're playing with a back five now, but just as often it's a line of six. That's not easy to break down, whoever you are.

Much at Atleti do need the width that Carrasco might supply they need to switch the ball more quickly to make the most of it. Their passing and movement is just so laboured tonight.
