Kovacic has been really impressive for Real Madrid of late. The Croatian is starting to become a key figure for Zidane. But who does he replace if he is to become a first teamer?

That chance had been coming for the away side. Real Madrid have dominated the ball in the opening 15 minutes or so and much of that possession has come in the opposition half.

WHAT A SAVE! That was close to being the opener for Malaga. Kovacic arrived late in the box to get on the end of a cross, heading towards goal. But Roberto makes the flying save!

Yikes! That was a cross that Benzema will want to forget quickly. He was played down the channel and to the byline. He tried to cross it, but lashed his delivery high and wide. Wow.

Real Madrid started the better of the two teams, but Malaga are beginning to grow into the game. Although the home side are playing very, very deep in these opening 10 minutes or so.

Ronaldo has been the main man for Real Madrid in 2018, but will Zidane's side cope without their number seven this evening? They need to show that they have some depth.

Theo has been handed a starting place on the left side of the defence for Real Madrid this evening. The youngster has struggled since making the move from Atleti in the summer.

Of course, Real Madrid come into this game on the back of a close shave against Juventus in the Champions League during the week. That could have been the end of their season.

Malaga have suffered a dismal season. It will take a miracle for them to avoid the drop from La Liga. This is a club that has endured an almighty fall from grace over the last few years.

PENALTY CLAIM! Rolan slips inside the box, with many of the home fans claiming that he was brought down by Isco. However, the player didn't claim for it and there was no contact.

There is a sense in Spain at the moment that both Bale and Benzema are playing for their futures at Real Madrid. The two players have struggled for their best form this season.

BENZEMA STRIKES WIDE! Real Madrid come flying forward on the counter attack, with the ball falling kindly for Benzema. However, the French striker scuffs his shot well wide of the target.

Zidane has once again rotated his team ahead of this game against the side rock bottom of the La Liga table. Both Bale and Ronaldo have been left at home, given a bit of a rest.
