It's been a frantic, high tempo match so far, but you couldn't really claim that there has been a lot of quality on show. Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are cancelling each other out.

Lemar shot! Griezmann won the ball from Umtiti inside the Barcelona half, but the eventual shot from Lemar was a poor one and the block is made on the edge of the box.

Lucas goes down! The Atletico Madrid left back goes down right at the feet of Simeone under the late tackle of Vidal. Strangely, Simeone doesn't have anything to say about the tackle.

It's difficult to pin down the role that Vidal is playing in this Barcelona team. That isn't to say he's playing poorly, it's just that he seems to be drifting all over the place! Freedom.

This is the first time that Griezmann has faced Barcelona since his 'Decision' in the summer. That was when he evoked the spirit of LeBron James by announcing his future on TV.

Despite Atleti's best efforts, Barcelona are starting to zip the passes around. Arthur is the string puller. The Brazilian has become a key figure for the Catalans since joining in the summer.

Oblak gets an early touch! Messi gets the cross into the box, looking for the run of Vidal who had arrived late, but the Atletico Madrid goalkeeper gets up to make the simple catch.

This is the sort of game Atletico Madrid bought Lemar for. He's a big time talent and this is the big time. The Frenchman was their marquee signing in the summer transfer window.

Atletico Madrid are trying to disrupt the play of Barcelona in the early stages of this match. They don't want the defending Liga champions to build up any sort of momentum.

What is noticeable is how congested the centre of the pitch is. Griezmann is dropping deep as well, so you have seven players in the same area. Could get quite scrappy.

Here's an interesting statistic - Costa has never scored against Barcelona as an Atletico Madrid player (nor as a Chelsea player, for what it's worth). Atleti would like that to change tonight.

The midfield battle will be an interesting one. Barcelona have gone for a bit more muscle than is usual for them. Vidal is starting alongside Busquets and Roberto. Saul, Rodri and Koke are the Atleti trio.
