Barcelona will have to wait until the weekend to clinch the Spanish Liga title. Valencia did well to fight back twice, but Atletico Madrid just had too much quality for the visitors to the Metropolitano. Atleti close the gap at the top of the league table back to nine points.

FULL TIME: Atletico Madrid 3-2 Valencia

This has been a very entertaining match. Atletico Madrid have had to scrap for all three points, but they have also played some really nice stuff at times. Morata and Lemar have impressed.

Header wide! Sobrino had the chance to direct a header on target, but the Valencia sub couldn't quite contort his body to test Oblak with his effort. That should be that for the away side.

ICYMI - this was the stunner from Correa.

Simeone is out on the touchline in the rain conducting the home supporters. The title might be a formality, but the Atletico Madrid manager isn't about to give anything up just yet.

Morata faded after scoring the opener in the first half, but the on loan Chelsea striker has rediscovered his form and his confidence since signing for Atletico Madrid in the January window.

Griezmann header! That was a chance for Atletico Madrid to build a two-goal cushion and secure the points, but Griezmann could only head wide after getting up to meet the Morata cross.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Atletico Madrid 3 (81 mins - Angel Correa) Valencia 2. What a stunning, stunning goal! Correa curled a right-footed finish just inside the outside post and Atletico Madrid are back in front just minutes after conceding an equaliser! Neto had no chance of saving that. He just gave up on it! Sensational strike.

Griezmann... just wide! Very nearly a third goal for Atletico Madrid. The French striker's glancing header had Neto beaten, but the ball flashes inches wide of the far post. That would have been even better than his header for the second goal.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Atletico Madrid 2 Valencia 2 (77 mins - Dani Parejo pen). It's happened again! Atletico Madrid have allowed their lead to slip and Valencia are back on level terms! Oblak guessed the right way, but there was too much pace and direction from the penalty kick by Parejo. We have a grandstand finish to look forward to!

PENALTY KICK TO VALENCIA! The referee has pointed to the spot. He saw a handball from Saul in the box!
78'
Is that a penalty?! The referee has gone over to the VAR screen to have a look at this incident. Gameiro believes that Saul handled the ball. Valencia might well have a case here. What will the decision be?
77'
Atletico Madrid have controlled this second half well. They have struck a good balance between dominating the ball and hitting out with pace when they move into the attacking third.

Sobrino is the latest player to enter the referee's book, although he disagrees with that decision.
