It wasn't quite the emphatic response to the Champions League collapse at Anfield that Valverde would have hoped for, but Barcelona get the job done. Getafe have dropped out of the top four with one game of the 2018/19 season left to play. They'll be disappointed that they weren't able to take something from this.

Messi looked somewhat miserable after scoring that second goal. That was probably because it wasn't his goal. Nonetheless, he has played this game in a huff after what happened at Anfield.

At first, it looked like a Messi goal after being played through by Roberto, but replays show that the ball might have been prodded into the net by Arambarri. That might go down as an own goal.

Off the crossbar! So close to being an equaliser for Getafe! The ball was played to the back post, Angel then headed back across goal, Molina got his head to it, but crashes his effort off the woodwork!

Messi has come to the boil in the last 10 minutes or so. On the whole, the Barcelona number 10 has had a quiet game, but Getafe are now being stretched by the Argentinean.

Soria saves again! Vidal had the shooting chance himself inside the box, but the angle was closed. He then played a reverse ball for Messi, but Soria made the save at his near post.

Ruiz was slotted through! That could have been a Barcelona goal made in La Masia. Alena played through Ruiz, but Soria came off his line to make the save from the youngster.

At the Anoeta... Real Madrid, down to 10 men, are just praying for the final whistle. Real Sociedad are 3-1 up and are pressing for a fourth goal! They have just rattled the crossbar.

Valencia are 3-1 up against Alaves at the Mestalla, so if Getafe are to be fourth this evening they will need an equaliser in the last five minutes or so of this match at Camp Nou.

Messi... shoots well wide! The Getafe defence was backtracking as Messi surged at them. However, when the Argentinean finally took the shot he leaned back and sent his effort high and wide.

We will surely see more of Alena next season, especially if Rakitic leaves Barcelona in the summer. The youngster has made quite the impression in the second half of the campaign.

That was surely a freekick? Messi embarks on a trademark run and is brought down right on the edge of the Getafe penalty area. But the referee decides that there was no foul in there.

A third and final change by Barcelona and full back Semedo is being introduced.

It wouldn't be a Barcelona game without Vidal being shown a yellow card.
