Real Madrid have a number of key figures out of contract at the end of the season. One of those figures is Modric who still hasn’t put pen to paper on a new deal. He will be a free agent.

Kroos is also enjoying the best period of the season so far. The German was instrumental in the victories over Barcelona and Liverpool in particular. He is Real Madrid’s midfield controller. Will we see him in the second half?

Olivera over the bar! Alena's corner kick delivery into the box is a good one, but Olivera sticks his header over the target when he probably should have tested Courtois.

What sort of match will we get in the second period? Both Getafe and Real Madrid have had chances to find the back of the net. Zidane will want to see more sustained pressure.

Odriozola looks to have picked up some sort of knock. That's the last thing Zidane needs with Carvajal out injured and Valverde unavailable. Odriozola will continue, though.

Zidane looks slightly unhappy with what he is watching from his team at the moment. Real Madrid have seen plenty of the ball, but they need to create more scoring chances.

Getafe have responded well to the pressure they were facing from Real Madrid moments ago. There is a sense that the home side have weathered the storm at the end of the half.

Save from Soria! Odriozola gets a good delivery into the box from the right side, Vinicius gets on the end of it and directs a header towards goal, but Soria gets down to make the save!

Cucurella on the edge of the box! The Getafe full back attempted to control the ball on his chest and get the strike away, but there were too many Real Madrid players around him.

Indeed, there is a sense that Real Madrid are finally starting to take a grip of this match as Getafe sit camped deep inside their own half. They would like to get to the break level.

Real Madrid are seeing a lot of the ball at the moment as they look to turn the screw on Getafe towards the end of the first half. They are doing a good job of stretching the pitch.

Modric isn’t far behind Benzema in terms of his importance to Real Madrid. The Croatian has been in excellent form recently. So much of Los Blancos’ attacking play flows through Modric.

I think we all expected this match to be a tight encounter, but it has been surprisingly open. Both teams are looking to attack as soon as they win the ball. Been entertaining.
