Zidane’s team is built around Benzema as the apex of Real Madrid’s attack. When he plays well, the team around him plays well. Benzema is the most important player at the club. How will Mariano deputise for him?

Benzema has been in exceptional form since the turn of the year. The French striker has 19 goals in 26 league appearances this season. He is only getting better and better with age and is a big miss tonight!

Getafe have struggled for form of late. This is becoming a season to forget for them as they have failed to win 11 of their last 12 matches in La Liga. Desperately out of form.

Cleared off the line! Soria gets it all wrong and is beaten to a Marcelo cross by Mariano, but he couldn't quite get the ball to cross the line as Timor got back to scramble away the clearance!

Real Madrid have done a great job of turning around their season. They have won eight of their last 10 matches in La Liga and have clawed their way back into the Spanish title race.

Off the woodwork! This time Courtois is beaten by a strike by Mata, but the post comes to Real Madrid's rescue to prevent Getafe from taking the lead! That's the closest we have come so far!

The omens are good for Real Madrid this evening. They have won 14 of their last 15 matches against Getafe in all competitions. This is a derby of sorts, but a lopsided one.

Benzema and Kroos are on the bench for Real Madrid this evening. Zidane at least has the security net of knowing two of his most important players can be called on if needed.

Zidane is without a few of his most important players for this match. Casemiro and Nacho are both suspended for Real Madrid. They might have been rested for this one anyway.

This is a big opportunity for Rodrygo to make a good impression. While the Brazilian is certainly still part of Zidane's plans for the future, he has been a peripheral figure of late.

Isco shoots well wide! It was always going to be difficult for the Real Madrid playmaker to find the target on the full volley 25 yards out and so it proved. Well wide from Isco.

Against both Barcelona and Liverpool, Real Madrid were able to do a lot of damage on the rapid counter attack. Zidane’s side will face a different test tonight. They’ll have to play through Getafe.

Real Madrid have enjoyed a good couple weeks. They have seen off Liverpool in the quarter finals of the Champions League and went second in La Liga with a win in El Clasico.

Just past the post! Another opportunity for Arambarri who had time and space just inside the box, but he manages to put his low strike wide of the post when he should have hit the target!

Decision stands! That offside call was much closer than initially looked to be the case, but the officials stand by their original decision. Mariano was just offside when the ball was played.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... NO! Mariano rounded the goalkeeper and put the ball in the back of the net, but the flag has gone up for offside! The goal has been chalked off!

Courtois called into action! The Real Madrid goalkeeper is required to make a big save to prevent Olivera from bundling a freekick delivery into the back of the net! Big save from Courtois!
