Nantes claimed their second win on the road to break into the top half of the Ligue 1 table with a 2-1 win over Strasbourg at La Meinau on Friday. Marcus Regis Coco and Samuel Moutoussamy scored second-half goals within eight minutes of each other to put the game out of reach for Strasbourg, who pulled a consolation goal back for Patrick Vieira’s side through Dion Sahi.

Nantes beat Strasbourg 2-1 on Friday night to move into the top half of the Ligue 1 table.
Marcus Regis Coco and Samuel Moutoussamy were on target for the away side, who claimed their second victory of the season on the road and third win in four games.
After a goalless opening period, Coco put Nantes ahead five minutes into the second half, stabbing the ball home from close range following a brilliant weaving run from Moses Simon.
Simon darted into the box from wide right, squeezing in between Thomas Delaine and striker Kevin Gameiro before dinking the ball into the six-yard box, which defender Gerzino Nyamsi couldn't deal with as he headed the ball into the path of Coco to finish.
With the deadlock finally broken, Nantes were quick to add a second when Moutoussamy rifled the ball into the net eight minutes later to give the visitors a two-goal cushion.
Simon initially hit the foot of the post with a header which sparked a goal-mouth scramble as Florent Mollet latched onto the rebound but had his effort saved by goalkeeper Matz Sels, who showed remarkable strength in his left hand to keep the ball out.
Quentin Merlin fired Nantes' third effort in quick succession towards goal which was blocked, and despite his earlier save, Sels couldn’t stop Moutoussamy’s wrapped effort which nestled into the net in Nantes’ fourth attempt.
Strasbourg did hit back through Dion Sahi in added time, but it was too little too late as Nantes’ efforts sealed an important three points in the race for a European finish.
Patrick Vieira’s Strasbourg have lost back-to-back games for the first time under the Frenchman.
