Monaco boss Ricardo has admitted that he wants to bring Barcelona's former France winger Ludovic Giuly back to the principality.
Giuly, 31, has spent three seasons at Barca since joining from Monaco but has been deemed surplus to requirements by coach Frank Rijkaard and is set for a return to France, with Manchester City, Marseille and PSG also linked with bids for his services.
And now Monaco have entered the race.
"I want a wide midfielder who can take on players, go past them and cross," Ricardo declared. "We do not have a player like this and we have to have at least one. On the left or the right, but the preference is the right.
"Ideally, it is Giuly. I hope he is going to come - although it could be tricky."
Giuly scored in the Champions League victory against Arsenal in 2006 but - mirroring the rest of his team-mates - had a comparatively disappointing following season and is widely expected to move on this summer.
